Project VBOT is committed to making substance use disorder treatment clear, accessible, private, and respectful. This page answers the questions we hear most often. If you don't see your question here, our team is available to help.
Beginning care with Project VBOT starts with a confidential assessment. This initial step allows our team to understand your situation, explain your options, and recommend a path forward — with no obligation to begin treatment.
During your confidential assessment you can expect:
Assessments are conducted by trained professionals and designed to be respectful, supportive, and judgment-free. There is no obligation to begin treatment after an assessment.
Is virtual treatment as effective as in-person care?
When delivered by licensed clinicians with appropriate oversight, virtual treatment can be highly effective and improve access significantly — particularly for individuals who face barriers to in-person care. Research supports telehealth-delivered MAT as a clinically sound approach.
Do I need special technology?
Most services can be accessed using a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access. Our team will help you get set up — including a link to download the video platform we use for appointments.
Will my employer, family, or court be notified?
Treatment is confidential. Information is only shared when legally required or with your written consent. Your employer, family members, and community do not have access to your treatment records unless you choose to share them.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes — Project VBOT accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans, and Tricare. Our team can verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before your first appointment. Insurance coverage varies by plan and state.
What if I don't have insurance?
Self-pay options are available. Our team can walk you through costs and payment options before you commit to anything — no surprises, no pressure. We'll discuss options during your assessment.
What if I need additional support or referrals?
Our team helps coordinate care and can discuss additional resources or referrals when appropriate — including peer support, community resources, and other levels of care when needed.
Project VBOT uses secure, HIPAA-compliant technology to protect personal health information at every stage of care. All services are delivered with strict attention to confidentiality.
Federal law (42 CFR Part 2) provides additional protections for substance use disorder treatment records beyond standard HIPAA requirements. Your records cannot be disclosed without your specific written consent in most circumstances.
